Objectives of DGPS

Our key objective is to ensure that the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and its officials deliver the required standard of civic amenities and facilities.

We work with PMC staff, Pune Traffic Police, residents and the Corporators elected from Prabhag 36 to achieve our goal of a clean and safe Prabhaag. At the same time, we also emphasize the responsibilities and the role of residents towards this goal.

This includes, but is not limited to the efficient and effective management and maintenance of :

  1. Solid Waste Management
  2. Traffic concerns
  3. Electricity & Water supply
  4. Roads
  5. Pavements
  6. Public Parks, hills and open spaces
  7. Canals
  8. Removal of Encroachments, etc.

Please note that we are not a complaint cell to which residents can bring their problems. We help residents connect to the correct authority for resolution of the specific problem and do follow it up during our own interactions with the officials. In case of problems one should follow the procedure for making a complaint to the PMC Ward office. Once the complaint is registered, the DGPS can follow it up with the ward office and the elected representatives, but to be truly effective it requires the active participation of the residents of the ward.

We would like to emphasize that the DGPS is not associated with any political party or group, nor does it endorse any particular ideology or any political agenda.

Our motto is “Be the change you want to see.” Help us make our Prabhag 36 a ‘model’ ward for other wards to emulate.
